Midtown East

Manhattan (Midtown)

Overview

Midtown East apartments offer homes with a great location and a diverse selection of apartment buildings for any budget. Midtown East, which includes Sutton Place, Turtle Bay, Tudor City and Beekman, runs from 5th Avenue to the East River and from 42nd Street up to 59th Street. It is a large space marked by massive office buildings, residential towers and retail stores. The neighborhood has something for everyone with its restaurants and bars covering a wide range in terms of price point, atmosphere and demographic catered to. In addition, the convenience this area affords to people who work in Midtown helps cut down on commute time. Living options in Midtown East consist of high rise doorman buildings, walk-up low rises and a small amount of townhouses. The primarily residential section of the neighborhood, east of 3rd Avenue, can be split up into two regions, the east 40’s and the east 50’s. The east 40’s generally offers much cheaper apartment prices and therefore has an abundance of young residents. Moving uptown into the 50’s, higher real estate prices attract families and an older demographic. There is certainly no shortage of things to do in this area. Food lovers can check out Grand Central Market for an array of gourmet offerings, while runners and cyclists can enjoy the East River esplanade. Sutton Place Park provides a nice respite along the East River and 5th Avenue offers some of the best high-end shopping in Manhattan. Furthermore, residents can utilize the plethora of transportation options that exist here to get to anywhere in the city relatively easily.
