Tribeca

Manhattan (Downtown)

Overview

Tribeca offers some of the most coveted places to live in all of Manhattan. The neighborhood’s boundaries are set from West Street (the Hudson River) to Broadway and from Canal Street to Barclay Street. Unfamiliar to many NYC residents, TriBeCa is an acronym that stands for “Triangle Below Canal Street,” despite its more polygonal shape. The neighborhood is dominated by large loft apartments and, to a smaller extent, luxury high-rise buildings. It is certainly a wealthier scene as the living options trend towards expensive and expensiver. If you are a fan of cobblestoned streets and old-world style, you’ll sincerely appreciate the environment Tribeca has to offer. When you think of Tribeca, you think of one of the most filmed neighborhoods of NYC. On one block, you could run into a tv set. When you turn the corner, the next blockbuster movie is being produced. Celebrities love to flock here as much as families with characteristically large dogs. If you can afford it, it’s a nice and relatively tranquil place to live. The neighborhood is filled with regular events and activities for all ages and preferences. The Tribeca Film Festival, one of the most famous film festivals in the world, is held every spring and offers numerous independent and smaller budget movies for your enjoyment. The Taste of Tribeca, also taking place every spring, caters to the foodie in you by giving you opportunities to try food from many of the top restaurants in the area.
