West Village apartments are some of the most highly coveted homes in New York City. The West Village is situated in the northwest section of downtown Manhattan and runs from 6th Avenue to the Hudson River and from Houston Street up to 14th Street. It is one of the more expensive locations in the city to live and is known for having apartments with little space. The atmosphere is generally cool and casual, possessing a semi-European feel with numerous cafés and outdoor seating. The neighborhood’s population is a mix of young and old, with demographics varying from street to street. It is marked by countless townhouses, walkups and low-rise buildings, plenty of which have gardens, patios or roof decks. The street grid can tend to be quite confusing to many people as most streets actually have names rather than numbers. The West Village is filled with plenty of appealing characteristics and things to do. One street may be all cobblestone, while another might have an enormous garage filled with antique cars. Bleecker Street offers shoppers exquisite boutiques, while restaurants line West 4th Street one after another. Hudson River Park stretches along the entire neighborhood and offers residents a beautiful esplanade with a series of parks for people to run, bike, play and relax.
