Due to many changes in our personal lives deciding upon what we wanted was more convoluted than we had imagined. Nonetheless, Marc supported us throughout the whole 5 year long process and was incredibly patient and helpful.
Because we lived abroad and travelled to NYC infrequently, a lot of this process was conducted online via email. Marc was always very attentive and available. Not only did he inform us about specific apartments he thought we might be interested in and about their neighborhoods, but he also informed us about New York at large so that we would make informed decisions.
Marc was always knowledgeable about every building we visited and came prepared with detailed sheets that compared different buildings, apartments, locations, and prices. He was key in helping us narrow down our options by offering sincere opinions, yet did not fail to take into account our preferences and to always respect and support our decisions. During the difficult process of placing offers on different buildings, Marc was very prepared to advise us on the current market and on what competitive offers we should make.
It would be an injustice not to mention that Marc is also an expert in all things New York and that he really got us excited to move to this new location. Since we were new in the city, Marc even gave us tours of places he thought we would enjoy and recommended great restaurants and markets for us to check out. “I had the pleasure of working with Julie in my search for an apartment in Manhattan. Although Julie identified a number of great apartments, it took me a while to come to terms with the crazy NYC real estate market. In retrospect, I should have jumped on several apartments she showed me in the early going, but Julie never lost patience and was extremely thoughtful about what I was looking for.
At my request, we looked in several neighborhoods over the course of my search and Julie was very knowledgeable about all of them. She was great about talking me through the pros and cons of each apartment and was never pushy or ever gave me reason to believe that she had anything other than my best interest in mind.
Once I found apartments I wanted to move forward with, she was excellent in communicating with the seller’s broker and engaging them to get as much useful information as possible to make an informed offer. When my offer was accepted, she was very helpful in working through the negotiations to get into contract and she shouldered the burden of putting together my board package, making the process as easy as possible for me.
The quality of the broker community in NYC is very hit or miss and it’s a game of chance as to what level of service you’re going to get, but with Julie, I was fortunate enough to work with someone who is honest, smart, persistent, patient and thoughtful.
